Champions League: Arsenal fall to Shakhtar Donetsk

The Gunners made a disappointing game and were too confident to see how dangerous Shakhtar Donetsk could be. The Ukranian squad beat Arsenal 2-1 with goals by Chygrynskiy (28') and Eduardo (45'). Theo Walcott netted the only goal of the London team.

As we know, Cesc Fabregas was not fit for this game, and the team seems to have no alternatives in some key positions.

Coach Arsene Wenger expressed his disappointment after the match: "Shakhtar Donetsk punished us and gave us a tough lesson, never underestimate a rival".

Cesc to miss game against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine

The Gunners' captain is important for Wenger, that's why Cesc is not traveling to Ukraine with the rest of the team, therefore he will miss the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

As we know, Fabregas is still recovering from a hamstring problem, and his coach does not want to take any risks with Cesc physical condition.

"Fabregas has a good chance to play against Newcastle on the weekend, but tomorrow night is too risky" expressed Arsene Wenger. "Our captain has no real strain, just a bit of pain. But since he has had difficult injuries before, we don't want to take any risk."
